TOP TWO ADOPTION BOOKS

I can’t stress enough the importance of preparing for adoption. Whether you’re considering international, domestic, or even foster care, preparing yourself for where these children are coming from, (even if they are newborns, they will still undergo some form of trauma) and how their little brains work is a must. My top two books are:

  1. Karyn Purvis totally changed my perspective on adoption in so many ways. I can’t stress enough that EVERY family considering adoption needs to read her book, The Connected Child. Also, be sure to google her videos! They are worth the watch.

  2. Forever Mom: What to Expect When You’re Adopting. This was one of my favorite reads as well. Mary reflects on her stories of adoption and everything that comes with it… the good, the bad, the ugly! I read back over this book often. Highly recommended!
